Poppies

As I had run off rather sharply from work last night to get to our show, I hadn’t even put my out of office on.  I therefore had to log on this morning to do that and also to catch up with a few emails that I hadn’t got to.  I’ve also got a report to review, but I wasn’t very motivated this morning.

It was very windy, and I dared to hang my washing out, but spent a long time watching it, just to make sure it didn’t get blown away.  After last Friday’s very windy run, I decided I wasn’t running this afternoon, with a thought that if the wind died down over the course of the day, I would maybe run later.  It was a few chores for me and sorting out stuff to take on holiday.   There is always something you can’t find.  I have a new-ish top that I want to take, but I have no idea where it is, as I just can’t find it.  Late morning I went out for a wee walk, and to pick up some lunch.  I haven’t been to the sandwich/deli shop for ages, so had a good old catch up with the owner, whose son is one of BB’s friends.  When I came out, it was raining – and I wasn’t dressed for rain, so I ran to the supermarket for a few things, and when I emerged from there the rain had gone off.

There was more chores after lunch, and later in the afternoon BB declared he was going to the beach with friends.  I headed out for a walk, planning my route, so I wasn’t too wind blasted.  It was a lovely afternoon, until the rain came on and I had nowhere to shelter.  I was quite damp, but dried off once I got home.  I was surprised to find BB at home.  Apparently they had gone to the beach, but it was windy and rainy, so they came home.  The rest of his pals decided to go into Edinburgh. But he made plans to go for a walk with R.  I had plans to get a takeaway pizza and to watch a movie.  BB and R must have returned when I was out getting the pizzas, as when I got back they were ensconced on the sofa watching a movie.  I fed them and left them to it.  I potted, then bit the bullet and took a look at the work report.  I was planning to do quite a bit of work on it, but I think it needs to be re-cast  into two report – so I shall provide that feedback and they can work on it while I am off.

TT had been out with friends for food and drinks tonight.  I was reading my book when he reappeared.  He declared he was now and holiday and promptly fell asleep!

When I was out this morning, I thought I spotted something red in the distance, so took a detour to check it out.  I’m glad I did – as it was these beautiful poppies.  Our Council really has done well with its wild flower patches this year.
