Absolutely stonking to have a public holiday on a Thursday. This is an annual event in honour of Nane Nane (Eight Eight) Day, which celebrates the contributions of farmers and the agricultural sector to the country. I had a lazy day and then went out around sunset to meet a friend and drink ginger ale.

Today was just what was needed after working into the evening yesterday. Some of my favourite aspects of the job are dealing with external partners and collaborating on how to move forward together (basically anything that doesn’t involve internal politics or systems), but I was in the office late waiting for a senior government official to be free. We eventually had a great discussion, but I’m trying to limit how many evenings my free time is invaded.
