Not always a bowl of cherries
Yesterday I didn't take a single photo. My aunt, not N whom I am staying with but my other aunt, had been taken to hospital during the night and her husband rang us in the morning to let us know. The rest of the day we didn't really know what would happen, she was on oxygen and iv antibiotics. We were at the hospital in the afternoon but she was eventually discharged late evening. Such a relief all round!
Today N and I went to the Laing Gallery to see the Turner exhibition. It was terrific. Just to be able to wander round such a beautiful building, seeing all the pictures in the permanent exhibitions, the stained glass windows, the sculpture and the displays. Every time I go I see something else which I find moving in some way.
Newcastle city centre very busy and there were a lot of police in evidence, on foot and in vehicles. Demonstrations and protesters are expected tomorrow and precautions were being taken. The fruit sellers were just closing down their stalls as we headed for the metro. We just had time to buy some strawberries, peaces and the tastiest cherries I've had for years. And at bargain prices!
It's been an eventful holiday so far. I'm hoping for a nice relaxed and calm weekend.
