Sport

This morning I watched the women's bouldering and lead competition in the company of both A and daughter L. It's rare that either of them watches live sport, so it was good to share. As yesterday, the action was compelling.

In the afternoon I did a bit of writing, before heading off to Tesco's for groceries. On my way back to passed the cricket ground where, for the first time this summer there was a match in play. I'd have watched for more than a couple of balls, but I'd bought frozen peas.

Back home, I was soon watching the cycling. Tonight I'll have my fingers crossed for Laura Muir in the 1500m, but I fear that she's no longer capable of medalling.

I was accurate in the case of Muir, but she couldn't have done more, and chapeau Bell. What a fine evening's athletics.
