VIOLETS

At last the welcome rain. Cresting the koppie on our morning walk we saw two bright spots of colour in the far distance. A rainbow disappearing into a cloud! Have not seen this before. We could see a bank of low cloud moving towards us. Lengthening our stride, we hurried home but did not escape the first drops of rain. Love the sound of rain on a tin roof.
Had to charge my battery so missed the photo opportunity. This afternoon I went into the garden to see what was new. The violets are in bloom all over the garden. Such a delight. Occasionally I pick a posy fringed with the green heart shaped leaves, but am always saddened by the fact that they soon wilt. For a short time we enjoy the colour, fragrance and old fashioned charm indoors.
