A day in the life

Damp, wet, soaked

The annual Kalmar city festival is up and running, it started on Wednesday and will be closed on Saturday at midnight. In between dates there are many concerts, exhibitions, food market, events of all kinds and people everywhere. It sort of closes the "free" part of the summer, some schools starts on Monday and most holidays are over. Everything is free, apart from anything you eat or drink of course, the restaurants and bars has to survive.

This afternoon there was a concert with a band I really wanted to hear so I took the bus into town, thinking I would eat something and have a couple of beers. The weather forecast mentioned some rain but only a couple of mm so I only brought a thin jacket. exactly when the concert started, there was a little rain but I was sitting under a huge tree and was covered, I thought. I think the forecast meant 2mm of rain every minute, plus increasingly hard winds. By the end of the brilliant concert, I was totally soaked,  outside in but the music was so good and everyone danced around, clapping in the rather warm rain, being happy.

I went to a special restaurant, situated inside the actual city wall (extra) to dry out before taking the bus home. Lovely evening, despite the rain.
