Safely gathered.

A beautiful warm late summer day today. Harvest time. This field is close to our house, so I went to see how they were getting on. From the far side I couldn’t see anything it was just a cloud of dust against the sun , so I had to retrace and go to the other side of the field. The big yellow machine is cutting the wheat and separating the grain. The red tractor driver then drew up alongside,  and the grain is set to pour out of a funnel into the trailer. There were two trailers taking it in turns to go off and unload the grain , they must have been going somewhere fairly local.
Presumably later on a baler will come along and gather up the straw into bales and then that will be taken away somewhere too. After getting a few photos I carried on walking, to see if I could find some blackberries. They’re mostly nowhere near ripe but I got a handful to have later.

In the extra, a few leaves are starting to fall and this one is trapped in a cobweb.
