Sure ice cream is good for sore throats?

Couldn't meet up as not sure what bug I'm hatching but sore throat glands up with aches & pains feels like an infection.

Resting on off, ended up curled upon couch with sleepy TV in afternoon.

Ice cream evening after tea & early bed I think.
