Diary of an Edinburgher

New view

This was the view from my bed this morning. It’s quite new, as we used to have a net curtain there (which sounds a bit ‘old lady-ish’ so I won’t mention it).

I took Archie out this morning, trying to walk off the sore back that developed yesterday. But when I got home I had to lie flat. In fact, I had to lie flat on the bed and just listen to the radio. All afternoon. A podcast about the sinking of the Belgrano in 1982, and the cover up. I was in NZ at the time, and I don’t think the war even entered my consciousness.

I’ve now found my little £1 close up specs I’ve had for years - several pairs in fact, and they’re perfect for looking at my phone. I can now see the text on blip clearly! And, as they perch on the end of my nose for looking down, I can still look up at the tv with my new eyes.

I’ve been having a look through blip and catching up with what everyone’s been up to for the past week or so while I’ve been indisposed. I’ll get around to looking in on all my regulars, now that I can read the screen.

I got a double supply of fresh peas this afternoon, which cheered me up no end! I’ll keep one bag for tomorrow. Possibly.
