Day 220/24. A Bar in the sky

This wooden bar is from the 1950's Short solent flying boat 'Hadfield' that used to fly around the world from Southampton. A different time.
After over 1,250,000 accident free miles of flying 'Hadfield' met its fate on 26th September 1956 when it was driven ashore from its moorings and wrecked by a gale in Santa Margherita, just outside Genoa in Italy. This bar was salvaged from it.
