Wood You Know It

A wood duck, sounding off, on the greyest of grey days. Some might say gray, but I've always spelled it with an 'e'.

Still learning to see in b&w, even with the camera set. Looking for a good range of tones to play with is probably key.

I liked how the eye bounces a bit between the duck and the dark trunk, being at different distances. The duck is small in the frame, so I'm almost compelled to look around and see what else is there. Then there is a really dark leaf on the left, pulling my eye in that direction.
