Temperature

The only elastic bands Tesco had were in that range of cheap and cheerful random stuff that’s £2 for two items. I looked at the thermometers the other week, but didn’t want one of the other items. This week, Mr Pandammonium wanted some elastic bands, so now I have a thermometer.

After Tesco, I made some more cookies with cherries and sultanas, flattening them more and baking them for a little longer because they seemed a little soft and possibly underdone before.

Today’s batch is better, but still a little soft; I think it’s (partly) because the recipe says to let them cool on the tray rather than a cooling rack, where the air can circulate and dry them out more. I think I’ll have to bake a third batch to test this theory. Oh noes.

They’re not for now; they’re for the weekend, although we have had the obligatory taste test. Also, one of them didn’t fit in the biscuit jar, so had to be re-homed elsewhere ;)

While they were in the oven, I did some prep for my writing group’s meeting this evening, which went well.

Now, I’m catching up with the Olympic climbing competition. The female commentator is really annoying.

In stark contrast to the two artistic swimming commentators, who tell you how to go about getting into artistic swimming and how much fun it is and how you make friends for life, she keeps telling ‘the people at home’ that they won’t be able to do this, even with climbing shoes on. Disgraceful.

She should be encouraging ‘the people at home’ to find their nearest bouldering facility and telling them how much fun it is.

I’m having to stay up until the washing machine finishes with our PE kits in it. I need mine dry for the morning, for week 1, day 2 of my training regime. Mr Pandammonium doesn’t need his till Friday.
