Fireweed
This wildflower is called Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium), and is probably one of the most widespread wildflowers in Alaska. Fireweed honey is sold by beekeepers, and as I was taking photos in this area I could hear the continuous buzz of honey and bumble bees.
The farm in the background is about 2 miles from us, and is the home of two of the original homesteaders in this area, Nina and Jess Robinson, who still live there. The name of our road is Robinson Loop. They have three large hayfields and a few beef cattle.
