RM for MRI

I was trying to work out many MRI No1 has had in the last 12 or so years and think it must number around 30 maybe?  Each time she is calm and sanguine and just gets on with it.  Particular highlights have been:

- Music played while in the machine (to drown out the awful noise) - on one occasion 'Bat out of Hell' was the music playing?
- Cannula fitted to provide a 'contrast' in the scan.  Many times they have problems inserting the cannula, and on one occasion didn't cap it off and blood was spurting everywhere?!
- No music on occasions so just 40/50 minutes of loud mechanical noise.
- It is always cold in the MRI suite and often no blanket provided?

Ho hum .......... but on we go again and today was no different.  Around 5 hours in the RM with lots of waiting.  Consultant not available after 2.00 as he was seeing his private patients (bet they don't have to wait?) so we saw his Registrar.  She asked if No.1 had referral to Neurologist as this was flagged up earlier in the year?  No mention of this and no appointment.  I did wonder as her treatment appears to fall between Oncologist and Surgeon and nobody in the middle.  She then proceeded on a 'fact finding' mission just asking lots of questions before saying they would discuss the scan at the MDT on Friday and No.1 would have another appointment next week.  So here we go again, more waiting, more treadmill, more anxiety all the while trying to keep upbeat and positive.  Cancer is sh*t ..........

BTW - picture today is of the new wing of the RM - at least it is a better environment for our 5 hour wait than the old building.

Onwards and upwards
