Sally Mair - Loving life

Wild life

Today was the last day of full sun this week so we made the most of it. We walked down to First beach at NewPort, although I did swim briefly the water was a bit too rough. The picture in the collage shows a group of about 20 girls going for a first surfing lesson. They had fun.
Back in the house we did some domestic tasks and related after lunch. Our next outing was, by car, along parts of the cloud wall. We were outside The Breakers, the Vanderbilts summer mansion . New Port is full of these enormous summer mansions owned by the multi millionaire families.
The blip shows another section of the great elephant migration which I mentioned in a blip last. week, again these are outside The Breakers.
We had just set off back along the cliff path when I saw something in the water and realised, as it crested a few times, that it was a large seal. Apart from summer surfers, there were geese, ospreys, eider and back onshore, this white tailed deer is the second which I've seen while here. There's another shot of a Cardinal on a tree in the garden, I find their redness startlingly beautiful.
The last shot was taken on the deck over dinner, it's about 9pm and the temperature is still in the mid 20s.
