Sweet Suzanne

I’ve not grown dahlias before and with the summer being wet and cool I was concerned the tubers might rot, but most have grown and some are now producing flowers. This one is called ‘Sweet Suzanne’. It’s quite a thrill to see the tightly closed buds gradually unfurl and to see what exactly emerges.

A day of a variety of jobs including a trip to the tip and finding a present for a family wedding later this month.

Grateful:
- To catch up with my sister on the phone.
- That the rain eventually cleared and sunshine emerged this afternoon.
- That a hedgehog has been spotted at the allotment. Hoping it eats plenty of slugs.
