The Next Generation

I fancied a day at RHS Wisley and had a great time wandering the gardens. 

As always the flowers were magnificent, especially one of my favourites at this time of year , the coneflowers (extra). However, to my delight there were also dragonflies roaming the various ponds around the site.  I managed to capture one in flight (extra), but have chosen my main image of this large emperor dragonfly busy laying her eggs ready for the next generation in a couple of years.
