Look, In the Sky!
Maybe I am the only person in the world who saw this. Certainly no one else was standing in the street gawking at the sky and laughing out loud. I went in to do an errand, and when I came out of the store, it was gone. That moment. That fast. And I just happened to look up. I felt like the luckiest person alive.
A second wonderful thing happened today—someone’s on Freecycle gave me a big box of old sheet music: individual songs from the 1930s with terrific graphics and great lyrics. Some of the songs are renditions I have on old rolls for the player piano, and when I tried sounding out a couple of the tunes I was immediately transported back to when I was a kid, pumping that old piano and singing along: Beer Barrel Polka, Ramona, If I Had the Wings of an Angel. Oh my, it’s fun!
