Dunnottar Castle

We took Alasdair and his family to Stonehaven and Dunnottar Castle today. It’s been ages since we’ve been down to this fantastic castle perched on a crag above the North Sea. The place was packed with holidaymakers enjoying the castle and a fine sunny day. The Scottish Crown Jewels were smuggled here for safety as Cromwell marched North in the 16thC , and smuggled out again during the subsequent seize of the castle.
