2024 Sunday — Special Music

Cathy Ferris was our guest pianist this morning at Morro Bay Presbyterian Church. She played the music for the entire service, including a 15 to 20 minute extended prelude and postlude.

Cathy has played a few times for our church in recent years, and one appreciative listener remarked, when she was last with us, “Cathy uses all ten fingers and hits all eighty-eight keys!” Playing since she was a little girl and gifted by God to play by ear, she makes her own arrangements and segues without pause from one hymn or worship chorus to another, an unbroken stream of magnificent sound which she offers up for God’s glory.

For sixty-five years the church pianist at First Assembly of God Church in Bakersfield, she is known widely in Bakersfield and its environs and recognized for her virtuoso work. Hear Cathy’s music by searching for her by name on YouTube.
