A lovely surprise!
Today it’s exactly 6 months since our dear sister Valerie died. We miss her lots and remember her daily, but our faith knows she is in a far better place and for that we are so grateful. Very special then that we came home this afternoon to find the seeds given to me by a friend when she died, have flowered and show promise of many more to come!
After breakfast we said our goodbyes to the family and began the journey home. Began, because we first visited Foulmere RSPB reserve. D has downloaded the Merlin app on his phone and we walked round, app open, hearing birdsong but the birds kept themselves well hidden. If we’d had more time to linger we might have been more lucky. We’d arranged to visit D’s sister and brother-in-law at 2pm and needed to keep to the plan. It’s been far too long since we’ve seen them. They don’t really like visitors now but today’s opportunity wasn’t going to be allowed to pass. Our hour with them though was a lovely time. One of their daughters came too, especially to see us which was super.
It’s been a full on week. We shall take a while to wind down. Meanwhile, it’s good to be home and especially to find my wheelbarrow garden in flower.
Thank you Helen for telling me that it’s National Sisters Day today, significant for us both x
