Lost in Thought

Small Adjustable!

Yesterday I blipped a rusty cycle bell (Chedhams Yard) and Rock Area found some info about the company that made it - (H Miller & Co)

When I had a look at the info I realised that one of the small adjustable spanners they made was very similar to one I have - so it has become my blip for today.

Closed up it is ~75mm end to end.

I inherited it from my father, but it is stamped with someone else's initials so it was possibly given to my dad when he was an apprentice (1943/44). I still use it occasionally as it fits into the tight spaces nuts and bolts on bicycles are always hidden in!

Scroll down to page 16 to see.
and an example of the bell on eBay!

The catalogue also shows a few lamps, similar to the one I blipped last week - which I'm now thinking is an old acetylene gas light.

No doubt some of you will be familiar with the crude play on words the manufacturer of mine invokes - not suitable for a civilised place like Blipfoto!

Many thanks for your visits to my journal and kind comments.

I used some photos from blippers for yesterdays photography advice at Chedhams - some of them will be going into their publicity material over the next few months.
