Puffin Day!
Tim had never seen puffins. We have been trying to organise a trip out to the Isle of May for a while, but like so much of this year, a trip had been postponed due to surgeries.
Thankfully the stars aligned today! The weather was perfect (so unlikely in Scotland!), we found a kind person to look after Tilly and we were off! The boat crew were a mixture of knowledgeable, kind and funny, and that set us up for a beautiful few hours on this precious island.
And, thankfully, there were puffins! They aren’t guaranteed and we were grateful to be able to gaze upon them. The blip is the best of a poor bunch, but I hope you can make them out in the bottom right corner. Other passengers had zoom lenses as long as your arm! I’ve never been one to be envious of other people’s kit, especially zoom lenses, but I found myself wondering… In any case, it was all the more reason to just be in the present moment.
We learned just how hardy these beautiful birds are and felt a deep appreciation to be able to see them.
