Let The Great World Spin.
Thanks to those asking about my welfare - because I have not blipped for over a month.
I haven't had much time.
My brother had an aggressive sqamous cell carcinoma below his left eye. It grew into his sinus cavity and behind his eye. He was taken to Wellington and had 10 hour operation to remove it. They had to go through the top of his skull and although there was nothing wrong with it, his eye had to be removed as well. I have seen him since the operation and now he is having a 6 week course of radiation treatment in Palmerston North, coming home on the weekends.
My eldest son has schizohrenia. He has been admitted to the psych ward 4 times in the last 3 years. Each time he comes out he refuses to take his medication because he does't think there is anything wrong with himself. He has been on the depot injection but they had to stop it because it dangerously elevated his heart rate. Just over 3 weeks ago he was self harming and screaming at the voices to leave him alone. I called the Mental Health Crisis Team. He wouldn't open his door and speak to them when they came so they threaten to call the police. He then said that he would go with them, but as they approached the front door he quickly opened it and absconded. From the deck I could see him rounding the corner at the end of the street. The team headed for their car while on the phone to the police. He went down at dead end street that has a footpath zig-zagging up a small hill at the end of it, leading to a major thoroughfare. However by that time the police were waiting for him. He was in hospital for 2 weeks and seemed to be doing well and was released on home care for a week.. Last Friday we had a meeting with his psychiatrist which went well and he was sent home for two more weeks
The same day while just about to finish my lunch the room to began to spin everything was spinning really fast. It was not dizziness, but much much worse. I closed my eyes but the world was still spinning and I began to feel nauseas. I opened my eyes and every thing was spinning faster. I began to panic thinking it would never stop. Who would look after Kaye?. I concentrated hard trying to make it stop. It didn't. Then a couple of minutes later ( though it seemed much longer) it gradually began to slow down and finally stopped. I stared at a photo of Kaye on the wall for a while to make sure it wasn't moving. Then I was able to call the Dr's office, luckily there had been a cancellation and I was able to get an appointment an hour later.
I was given a thorough examination and everything was fine The Dr thinks it was a one off and I was given some anti vertigo pills and told to call if it ever happened again.
About 11pm my son came from his room with a bloodied forehead and was also bleeding from his arm and asked to be taken back to hospital.
I don't know when I will be able to resume my normal irregular blipping again but hope to as soon as things settle down.
