Ponte Vecchio, Firenze

We have clocked up 8.5 miles today and explored many corners of this fascinating and elegant city. The old bridge is much photographed but it has such character (another river Arno shot in extras, as I had trouble choosing).

We walked (slowly) around the Boboli Gardens, and then meandered through the Oltrano district (left bank) as far as the old city walls. This evening we had a guided walking tour around the most famous landmarks with lots of story telling, and as lovers of history we thoroughly enjoyed that.

Pizza and a Limoncello Spritz - a more Italian dinner today! I am so tired I am almost falling asleep typing so I won't be able to browse journals but thank you for your good wishes.  Buona notte!
