Imperfection
The Purple Coneflowers growing in a neighbor's yard made an impressive display. Except for this one. A bit wilted and tired-looking, it was not at all like the rest, so naturally caught my eye. The Japanese aesthetic of
wabi-sabi comes to mind. "Sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is 'imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete in nature. It is prevalent in many forms of Japanese art." (wikipedia)
