The painted desert

A very early start. I must say Atura hotel was the most comfortable airport hotel I have stayed in. Straight through to the gate and I met Jay who is my photographic guide for the next few days. We caught up with Kirsty the only other guest at Olympic Dam where we changed flights to William Creek and settled in

William Creek has a population of 2 but the iconic hotel was heaving this evening.

After lunch we had a talk about what to expect and how we could edit our photos effectively over the next few days.

At 4 we had our first flight over the painted hills. We were in a small plane with a wide open window. What a place. Sensational.

Dinner of goat curry in the hotel and back for some editing of 300+ photos.
