I went to Fairyland.......
....and they wouldn't let me in:((
Fairyland, in Oakland, is a ten acre park which opened in the fifties and is purported to be the inspiration for Disneyland.
Unfortunately, adults must be accompanied by a child, and there was none to hand.
I had a prepared speech for the guy on the gate, but was unable to melt his cold, cold heart.
I took a few shots from outside, and will put them up on flickr when I get a chance.
I strolled around on my own today, checking out a bonsai garden and the Lake Merritt Wildlife Refuge.
Birds aplenty, hence the pelican.
The Lake Merritt Mid Century Monster, a children's play structure in the second extra, has recently been restored.
I didn't see any children climbing on it, but a couple of adults were in its clutches, and reading.
