Everyday I Write The Book

Educational tours with beer

Or was it beer with a bit of education?

Either way we covered a range of topics - philosophical, geographical, ethical, sociological, etymological etc - whilst ‘avin a larf in Rotherhithe.

This was us having lunch in the Mayflower pub, so named after the boat taken by the small group of Brits who set sail from here 350 years ago to colonise America. The pub is getting on for 500 years old and does a brilliant home made vegan sausage and mash with onion gravy (see extras).

We also found a lovely little restaurant / bar called Simplicity in Tunnel Street and I had a selfie with a drunken Romanian who said I was lying about my age and that I couldn’t possibly be a day over 55.

One of our party had an enormous ice cream and another one found a fan on the train back to Surrey which he was happy to model.

It was a most excellent day and the sun shone on our endeavours.
