Marking Time

Turbulent times

At ten o clock tonight, I realised I had no blip photo for the day.
Then I looked out of the window…..that’s one advantage of living in Scotland. There is always something happening in the landscape.

Well, it’s been  a less fraught day thanks to friends rallying around offering much needed support. One friend provided transport in her SUV vehicle, big enough to accommodate M (6ftplus) and his crutches.
We only had to travel to Stirling’s community hospital and it was so quiet and peaceful after Larbert which is a big  very busy modern hospital catering for central Scotland . Here there was calmness silence and staff with time to offer information, and help. The physio  proved to be a “ little angel” offering a sympathetic ear, moral support and a set of exercises.
Yes it would take weeks before M’s condition, a hematoma in the leg resulting from a fall in the garden, would be back to normal. It is extremely painful , far worse he says than a broken hip.
I am pleased to learn though that its safe for M to leave the downstairs bedroom and, using his crutches ,make it up to our kitchen which is on the third floor. (it’s an upside  down house in order to experience the view – see today’s photo)

My walking app tells me I clock up between 1-2 miles nearly all  in the house. More importantly, now that we have an action plan in place instead of floundering around searching the internet for help, we will avoid further trips to hospitals.
And M will soon be back in his beloved garden.
Incidentally, the gooseberries which I had planned to pick two days ago have all gone. Every single one. Snaffled by the birds.
