Hard-head catfish

The skull of a marine catfish (Ariopsis felis) which my pal Little Lep brought me.

I used to identify fishbones for a living and I just love this neurocranium.

The fish is one of those where the male broods the eggs in its mouth. Glad that I'm a mammal....
