Profusion

This is the tree I mentioned yesterday.   

It is already  very heavy with rowan berries - indeed all the rowans seem to have a bumper crop this year. 

Folk lore has it that this presages a hard winter, though it is difficult to see what natural mechanism that would result from.   

As the berries continue to ripen the birds will get many of them, but there are usually enough , along with changes in the colour of the leaves next month, to produce a continuing spectacle - just right for further blipping ! 

(I took this before the rain started today.   We were meant to be an a sightseeing sea plane tour from Loch Lomond, a trip given to us as a gift last year.   But it got cancelled.....)
