tempus fugit

Dispersal

When I get back from walking the dog (and myself) I sit at the foot of the stairs to take off my boots. At this  time of the year a shower of seeds falls out and more remain attached to my socks. I was reminded of the botanist Edward Salisbury who, when men's trousers had turn-ups, once grew over 300 plants, of 20 different species, from the seeds that he had inadvertently collected in them.

I found something about it here .
(It's rather nice to learn that Edward's childhood passion for plants was not deterred by the teasing of his 8 older siblings.)
