Gardening day

I got the sweet peas and the peas tied up today. They both have put on a good bit of growth recently and they were needing a bit more support. Parts of the borders are looking a bit sparse but the veg beds are full to bursting. I find it difficult to thin out lettuces and consequently we have dozens of them, thin, spindly specimens! I was ruthless today and only left the ones which looked as if they were going to thrive! 
Tonight we had lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. Sadly the eggs were bought ones.
Just before tea Lottie and I had a good walk although she was still feeling it rather hot. We ended up on the beach and so she was quite happy! .
The extra is an old piece of rope on an iron ring. Reminded me of a highland cow!
