Walking in Tredegar Park
I'd been to the park a few times in recent months. That's a rubbish record really as I currently live about half a mile from it. In fairness to myself, I spend a lot of time not being only half a mile away from it. Usually in work either in Cardiff or Cornwall. Sometimes Kent (i smile as i write that). Anyway, I should still make more effort to go there.
So, I managed to get my boy to come up there with me. At first, he was avoiding it. A busy week at school, swimming, football, karate, rugby and more football tires him out me thinks. I encouraged him up there with the thought of trying an air hogs r/c plane I'd got him. He was excited about the idea. So was I. At first it didn't work well. Kept going around in a circle. I tinkered with the flappy thing on the tail wing thingy and voila! It worked much better. I'm available for a career as a pilot if British Airways staff are reading this :)
After a while. the plane ran out of power. Whilst it charged we chilled out on the grass. My boy sat on my crossed legs and leant against me. It was a quiet, relatively cool late afternoon and chatting to my son whilst he played gears on my iPhone was really lovely. I miss that. So does he. I think we're both doing ok though. Maybe.
