The kindness of others.
Today began like any other day. Dogs walked, plootered about etc etc. Then I got one of these scam calls telling me i had spent £1000 on an Amazon purchase with the usual scammy intructions which I ignored as usual. That was fine so I let the dogs out to the garden when the postie pulled up and said I have a package for you and duly handed me yes you guessed it, an Amazon box. Immediatley my mind rushed back to the scam call so I went in and checked all my spondoolaks were still present and correct which they were.
I looked at this Amazon package and noticed my name and address had been written in ink and I thought hmm the Amazonians must be getting cheap skates. Anyhow I found a sender name on the box exterior but it still meant nothing as I wasn't recognising the name. There was only one thing to do ...open the box. Once open the box revealed yet another box for an electric toothbrush. I thought who on God's green earth is sending me a toothbtrush, do I have bad breath!!! However I then found an envelope with my name and I gingerly opened it and read it. Then the penny finally dropped. Ever so cafrefully I opened the toothbrush box to reveal the above. A Canon Powershot GX3 a camera I had coveted for a very long time.
It was from a very kind blipper who had finally replaced his trusty photo steed with a nifty new model but was kind enough to gift his old still working GX3 to me.
I stood and stared at this little beauty then gently stroked it and finally picked it up. This is the first time ever I have been on the receiving end of such a kind gift and all I can say was that I felt truly humbled and very emotional.
We often get pleasure in doing such an act of kindness but to the recepient this is truly moving and makes you want to be a better human being.
To the sender may I simply say....Thank you. Your kindness moved me deeply.
