Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

A beautiful summer's day

Instead of walking with the Intermediates, Brian, Kay, Eric and I played truant. We went and did the walk from Alston which Brian led four weeks ago.

This was the walk where Eric was unwell and I diagnosed complete heart block. Kay, Eric and I spent a lot of the day at hospital. Eric was kept in until there was a bed for him at the Freeman and he had a pacemaker fitted.

It was good to do the route without any health issues.

It was quite humid but not intolerably hot.

The harebells are out now. The melancholy thistle flowers were over but there was a lot of thistle down.

We walked for nearly 6 miles and then had a well earned drink in the Cumberland Arms.

I fell asleep in the chair, in the warmth of my lounge, so I decided not to do anything else today.

The other Marjorie is still waiting on the Cardiology ward at the RVI until there is a bed for her at the Freeman. There is clearly a problem with the pathways. Ideally she should have an angiogram and a stent fitted asap.

I'm going to try to visit tomorrow.
