Drying Green

Brilliant summers day and the clothes poles are empty.

In days gone by and within living memory this was a mecca for local housewives where washing was dried and gossip purveyed.

Communal activity continues mostly in the coffee shops and tearooms, the difference is use of the drying green was free.
