In yer face

I wanted to go running with my running group this evening, but didn’t fancy 5k in the heat – 28°C. Most people said they weren’t going. One person said they’d be up for a short, easy run if anyone else fancied it, so I said I did.

We jogged an easy two miles in the shadiest streets we could find. It was alright, actually. I was glad to finish and glad to have gone.

On the way back home, a lesser-spotted bus came along. The bus company drastically reduced the service, which is the only service that goes through the village, a little while ago. Another bus company stepped up to fill some of the holes, but it’s still a rarity.

The road and pavement are narrow along this road, so I stood in a corner of pavement between flats and a garden wall (see extra) while the bus squeezed between the buildings and a white van parked on the road.

The bus driver did not look happy about the situation as he concentrated on not hitting anything. I wasn’t happy because if the bus did hit anything, I’d be stuck.

Without the van, there’d have been no problem (see extra).
