The day started with some light cloud cover but it cleared by lunch time and it was a hot day (a bit too hot for me!)
I drove to Gedling Country Park to meet JR and her two grandchildren. We had coffee and then walked up to the viewpoint. Its good in terms of reach but not particularly interesting. Lincoln Cathedral is supposed to be visible but I’ve never found it!
Drove straight from there to Dad’s. We needed to arrange to send a photo if the car logbook to the company who were going to auction his car. However when I finally got through I was told that it was going to be repaired and to phone the insurance company. They confirmed that a full assessment had lead to change of decision and it was going to be repaired. Fortunately Dad was very easily persuaded to keep to his original decision to stop driving. Once that was sorted I arranged for his courtesy car to be returned and then took him to collect his belongings from the his car. Took us a a while to find the place- it was on a small industrial estate amongst several with non- existent signage
