Podding Along

I had a fairly quiet day today and didn't get much further than our back garden. Today's shot is of the seed pods that hang off our laburnum tree in great numbers at this time of year looking very much like pea pods - this is hardly surprising as laburnum is in the Faboideae family, a subfamily of the Fabaceae or pea family. 
I wasn't entirely sure about this as a blip image originally but eventually I decided I just liked the way the seed pods were backlit by the afternoon light giving them an almost alien feel - sometimes you just have to give peas, or their subfamily, a chance and if I'd managed to add sound to my blip it could even have been a podcast! :-)
