Agrostemma
.. common name is ‘Corn cockle’ - grown from seed this year and added to the newly named wall border on the far side. It’s an old cottage garden favourite with the most exquisite flowers which seem to dance merrily whatever the weather throws at them. The sunset just caught them and gave them a subtle glow. I’m going to try sowing some more seeds in situ. They’re in a border with Ammi majus which doesn’t seem to be as happy but they make a fab duo.
Another busy day with eye tests, shopping, weeding, cutting back herbaceous perennials, watering and moving a penstemon which obligingly split into two so I had to find two new homes.
