Playing Tourist
Following tackling a few tasks about the house it was time to make the most of the sunshine. We made the short journey to Castle Howard. Popular with families with children enjoying rolling down the bank near the cafe.
We enjoyed the walk through the gardens. Some striking colours attracting the bees and butterflies. I then went in search of Dragonflies and Damselflies by the lake. Some magnificent specimens but few wanted to stop for a photo.
Caught this view of the main house as I emerged from the walled gardens. Gone is the paraphernalia from the five million pound wedding held whilst I was away. The only sign being the brown grass which is fenced off to help it recover. Finished off with refreshments at the cafe.
