Totally Locally!!
On a day like today it's hard to beat the beautiful local roads that cry out to be cycled on.
A peach of a ride with gorgeous views whilst climbing up from Oxenhope and over to Pecket Well. I treated myself to the stunning Height Road which offered yet more wonderful views of the Calder Valley.
From Mytholmroyd I made my way up Cragg Vale enjoying seeing some of the bunting which remains up to celebrate the annual sporting events on this, the longest continual ascent in England. I don't know if that's true but the sign at the bottom claims it and it's local so I'll go with such bias! :-P
I also treated myself to some of the hidden lanes through Millbank and Cottonstones. So lovely!
Incredibly lucky to enjoy such freedom and you can't help but think of those poor families and friends impacted by the horrifying incident in Southport yesterday. My heart also goes out to those who organised the event. Nobody arranges or attends a lovely, community summer event even considering such atrocities...and nor should they. All we can do it make the most of now because after all, it's all we ever have. :-)
