Emley Moor Mast

Back in Yorkshire for a short while.

Not been feeling my usual self since the weekend, but not at all sure what's wrong, so it seemed a good idea to make an appointment with one of the GPs. I got an appointment for this morning and walked down to the surgery, half expecting to be sent to one of the physios. But no, I have a fast-track referral to a consultant neurologist.  Not at all sure where this is going, but watch this space...

Anyway, the GP said it's OK to carry on as normal, so that's my plan. Accompanied MrM to an outdoor shop this afternoon, for a couple of items for this coming weekend's camping trip, after which we did a supermarket shop for some 'camping food'. On the way there we passed close to Emley mast, a landmark that dominates the landscape for miles around.

It's a transmitting station, and at a height of 330 m is apparently the tallest freestanding structure in the UK (20 m taller than the Shard). Reaching the tower room at the top of the concrete structure takes 7 minutes by lift.
