a lifetime burning

Early morning at Arne

At 5am this morning the temperature at Arne was down to a blissful 12C - a far cry from yesterday's 30C.  I had a very nice time wandering around the reserve.  The Meadow Pippit in the main was taken just as the sun came up lighting up the ground mist to give a lovely atmospheric backdrop.

By 8am the temperature had already reached 20C so it was definitely time to go back to the hotel for breakfast.

Back at Arne again later that morning with the temperature now up to 28C  I finally managed to track down a Dartford Warbler and I've included that as an extra as I've never managed to get a shot of one before. I was melting and decided it was time to give up, so I went back to Swanage
to collect Cathy ready for the 2 hour drive home - than goodness the car has decent aircon.
