Blue Dasher with eggs

We were on the lake early, I was in my kayak, and Al was on the pontoon...and the dragonflies were putting on an incredible show...

This pair of blue dashers landed on my kayak, then with the female still holding onto the male, they obligingly landed on a reed right next to me.

I've never seen dragon eggs before...it was amazing to witness this and be able to share it with you. I was very happy to get a decent shot as I was in my kayak, which is never perfectly still.

Next time, Anni, I'm putting you in a kayak!!!!


Just heard from Dave that these "eggs" are actually mites!! Sorry for the misinformation...I trust his knowledge much more than I do my own on dragons!!!
