New regime

Guess where I'm house-sitting for the next week? Dornie and Shuna's.

Their mistress has begun a new regime in an attempt to improve their behaviour and lessen their yapping:

- ignore them when you come in, only giving them some attention when they have settled down;

- eat (or pretend to eat) something before you feed them, and only if they are quiet;

- go through doors before they do (easier said than done!);

- don't let them out of the car until they are quiet, and then only one at a time;

- call them to you and make them sit when you meet other people and dogs on a walk

That is the gist, the idea being that you are 'top dog' and they get to know their place. I hope to continue with the new regime within reason (the last one is a bit impractical) because, let's face it, it makes life much more pleasant without the yapping!
