A day trip to Dingwall.
Out on the bike to Hers to drop keys; then onto Haymarket for the 0937 to Dunblane.
There I met up with fellow Braco Branch founder member Sanny as we took off up the A9 bound for the last of the Premier Sports cup games this season. Even a win v Ross County would not have got us into the next round. This time last year we cuffed St Johnstone 4-0 on their patch and progressed to a last 16 tie v Aberdeen which we narrowly lost. This year? A solid 4th out of 5....
It was a braw day for being driven up country; taking in all the Munros I've climbed and across the Black Isle in good time.
A Harry Gow pie and a pint in the Mallard before kick off (under agers welcome it appears!)
The game itself was predicatable - the Premier League side mostly on top, with the occasional glimmer of hope down the other end. In three competitive games I've watched the Binos this season, I've yet to see us score....! :-/
2-0 behind at halt time; it ended up 3-0 by the end. We dropped the lads back to Belladrum before narrowly missing the 1953 from Dunblane; the next Edinburgh train was due in at 2136....! So Ian decided to drop me in Stirling; where I managed to get a Glasgow bound express (28 mins to the Weeg) and then 29 minutes of a wait for the next Embra train; but still quicker than waiting for the direct Edinburgh train.
Having woken at 0700, I was ready for bed by 11 when I got in....
