Phew what a scorcher!

We took the children to the park in Saintes early today, and sat in the shade by the river Charente enjoying the breeze for a while before going to a lovely air conditioned supermarket!
We didn’t spend long in the pool today, and watched a film indoors for a while this afternoon as it was 39.4 in the shade, and didn’t start to cool down at all until gone 7pm.
Now I’m enjoying the swimming on tv, in front of a fan, and the children are asleep (hopefully) while their parents have gone to the Île d’Oleron by themselves for some peace and quiet.
